The Lands
Knockclonagad is a warm fertile farm laid out in a thoughtful mixture of useful paddocks and good sized fields either side of the quiet secondary road with both parcels of lands having the benefit of frontage to both the secondary road and to the Garryhill/Borris road. The owners are currently utilising the farm for both tillage and grasslands in recent years, the benefits of which are clear upon walking the lands.
The Farmyard
The farmyard and sheds are laid out in three distinctive divisions, the first of which are the Courtyard Sheds immediately adjacent to the Residence. These are high quality sheds mainly constructed of cut stone granite and have all recently been re-roofed. One of these sheds provide 2 loose boxes while a second smaller shed provides a large loose box suitable for foaling or stallion housing. The larger of the three sheds, a long stone barn is sub divided and provides a garage and a secure lock up while the other side of the shed provides a large bright workshop and a further secure lock up. To the rear of these traditional barn lies the main Farmyard which consists of a 4 Link Lean to, a 5 Link Hayshed and a 3 Link Lean to machinery shed. All of these sheds have the benefit of a concrete floor and cast in situe concrete walls to various heights and are surrounded by a large concrete yard and a very useful silage pit. These shed are in good condition and are suitable for a range of agricultural activities from the housing of cattle and sheep or for their current use of providing accommodation for horses.
This yard is perfectly located and gives access to the centre of the farm and to most divisions and has the added benefit of a high quality stud railed enclosed sand arena located just west of the yard. A further 4 link hayshed is located to the South East of the main yard in a sheltered paddock beside the road frontage. Again this shed is in very good condition, is fully enclosed with the exception of one side and it has an eaves height of 5m.
